creating content just to transfer link juice
Let’s say I’m selling painting service and I have landing page that I use for PPC that is converting well. If I make content around it “how much does painting service cost“, “best painting practice” etc etc and include do follow link to the landing page that I send traffic to, would that help my landing page rank organically?

You have to optimize the landing for SEO not for PPC, with proper images, unique and relevant content for users, including targeting keywords to rank, but it will be rank in SERP for a limited time and then it will outrank, better you can create a separate page in your services and give proper navigation to the page and target for the right audience based on your competitors.

If landing page is relevant, visitor will stay and you will get higher rank, vice versa

Remember relevance otherwise you will waste your time

Generally a PPC landing page has very little content to get quick conversions so I wouldn’t recommend that. I’d use blogs for that with multiple CTA’s.
