    CPC for Home Service Electrician

Posted by Echo1721 on April 28, 2024 at 4:49 am

Search Google Ads Campaign – targeting your typical high buyer intent high competitive keywords. Like “electrician near me.” In my area there are only a few competitive keywords less than a dozen.

This CPC range is roughly between $15-$75 for electricians.

I’ve managed Google Search PPC campaigns but not anything that mattered as much as this one. I have always worked with a lower CPC.

I’m trying to determine how to set a ceiling for the cost per bid.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should set this to?

Any recommendations for the first month of ramping up and what I should look for with a higher CPC? Thanks in advance.

High CPCs are very typical in the electician, plumber and locksmith industries because customers looking for those high intent keywords usually have a need for the services right now, and they need the service now.

Do you know how profitable a new customer is? If you do, you can work backwards from that number to figure out the highest acceptable bid. Ie. If a customer brings in $200 of profit, conversion rate has historically been 10% and the required profit margin after marketing costs is 0%, you could set the CPC bid at most to $20.

You probably want to start a little lower, see how much volume you get, and then slowly ramp up the bid until you either have the volume you want or hit the max acceptable CPC.

The most important thing with this type of business is that the rest of the funnel works super well. Because the need is usually urgent,  a quick response time is super important. Make sure that the customers can either reserve the services for the same day online or get called back within minutes. Otherwise the funnel will leak and you’ll see the conversion rates plummet.
