Hi all… this might be a beginner question, but I work at an agency and understand the crazy nature of things so I’m not saying this is a bad thing: but is there anyone that actually “shows” their work?

it just seems like no matter what we explain to clients, many end up getting upset with something (not enough rankings, not understanding what we do, etc) and ask to see EXACTLY what changes we make to a site.

We offer monthly reporting and are always available for calls. It’s not like they don’t have access to their own Google accounts either.

But we have analysts working on it constantly and a lot of the work is “manually” done. so the only way to do this in reality is basically give away their spreadsheets, which does happen sometimes if clients want “proof” of the work being done, but it’s a huge nightmare that no one wants or has the time to do.

Does anyone have similar experience? How do you set up your reporting so that this doesn’t become (as much) of a time issue as it could be?

Never been asked for it but I get where clients are coming from. Many agencies and freelancers literally have an seo billing package and do nothing but charge money for nothing so I understand why someone would want to verify they’re not being charged for nothing

I setup a separate performance dashboard using data studio where they can access basic KPI metrics without really showing everything. You can share that and they can pretty much look at it anytime they wanted to pull up reports or something.
