Can’t get any leads on flyer for freelance work.
I created a flyer to do freelance social media work. My experience is pretty basic but of course I want to learn more and everything I’ve done is self taught pretty much. And I haven’t gotten a single lead. I’ve posted the flyers in the supermarket, some restaurants that allow flyers (pizzeria, deli, etc.), and nothing. I don’t know what else to do. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. Thank you. ????

Just a thought but if you’re trying to market yourself for social media marketing, have you tried using social media to market yourself…?

Why you relying on flyers? That’s enough to make anyone skeptical of the quality of social media work you’ll put out if you’re not actually utilising social media yourself… That’s really odd

I would consider arranging meetings with managers, owners, etc and pitching my services for free or trade. Build up a portfolio and some word of mouth.

Apply for internships. It’s too late for this summer, but you might be able to line something up for the fall. Build a portfolio of work. Self taught is a great start, but look into classes. Competition is pretty stiff and most have degrees in the field. Most people would not look to flyers for a social media position – do everything online. If you need to, talk to a headhunter and see what types of positions they have and what requirements/experience they’re after. Talk to some small businesses and offer your services for free. I got my job by reaching out to companies and sending them my work. Sell them on YOU. Its tough out there and we are in a recession, but I wish you the best of luck finding!

Where is the flyer taking them? Are you offering a phone number or a website?
