Can someone please help with this question I can’t find it anywhere regarding snapchat public profiles
So when people use a public profile on snap to promote or be a influencer they always just the option to add them on their public profile when you search them there isn’t an option to add them on their private , so I’ve been trying to get people to add me on my public profile but they all end up trying to request me as a friend me on my private instead so I end up not gaining any followers on my public just a bunch of friend requests… How do I get my account to only give them the option to add my public profile ?

Snapchat is incredibly confusing because it works very differently from any other social media platform. I hope I’m understanding your question correctly but if my comment doesn’t help, let me know and I’ll try to add more info.
To my understanding, there is no public and private account, it’s just one account that is either set to public or private.
When you have a public profile, anyone can see anything you post and anyone can “add” you at any time. This essentially makes them start following you because they now see your story posts in their stories tab.
You do not have to add someone who adds you, but you can if you want to, and then you will see their stories in your stories tab as well.
