  • Brand new to blogging, what are the absolute must tools?

I have a site, and just set up a blog. What tools do I need in order to be effective with my energy and efforts?

For example, I know that I need to find keywords or strings of keywords to rank for… but what tools can I use for that?

Free would be preferred but willing to shell out a few for a really awesome tool.

    Thanks all!

Google for your main search phrases, then see what keywords show up in Google suggest, and also in the “people also ask” section. That’s plenty to get you started rather than getting bogged down in tools…

Without knowing what the blog is about or the future content strategy, it is impossible to give a recommendation. The best option for you would be to try and see what works. A lot of SEO is about testing and taking chances. You can use a ghost name and see where you get it to. You have to want to make it rank for legitimate reasons and be interested enough in the topic to make small updates each day. So, this is all about you. Where do you want this to go?

Check for keyword research and KD before selecting a topic mate.
You will end up losing confidence if you start competition with big boys right away.

Average blogger doesn’t stand a chance as SERP’s are (it will be even more) swamped by content created by artificial intelligence or high authority sites.

There are two things you can do to leverage this:

    1. Learn what type of content structure google prefers to see in your niche.
    2. Learn to do competitive analysis via artificial intelligence, as it’s much better at detecting patterns.

Otherwise use SEOMinion, Google trends, and you can grab free trial at Semrush or Ahrefs.
