    Please give some additional information.

Why do you want to do this?

What do you mean by ‘block’? Return 404?

How would the server be able to react in any way to backlinks?

    Do you mean disable hotlinking?

Keep www separate from your naked/root domain (non-www). No redirect. This means the links don’t affect directly.

However, people expect www and non-www to show the same site. A lot of people will be going to the www site using the www keyboard shortcut. How do you plan to handle it? Page refresh to non-www or a big notice?

    No….

If you redirect your www to non-www Google will redirect any authority.

As for blocking backlinks, no you can’t. This would be silly to even think about.

It isn’t a good idea to block www or the site will be broken. Do `301` redirects from each www URL to it’s corresponding no-www version. If you disavowed the links already, then it should be fine.

Some people visit sites by typing the domain and then hitting ctrl-enter. Try it by typing “example” into the browser’s address bar and hitting ctrl-enter. It will add the www and the dot com.

Why wouldn’t you just redirect www to non www??

Disavowed or blocking those is bad practice. They should just be redirected. You’re going to hurt your site by disavowed them. That’s not what the disavow tool is for anyway.
