    Hi,
I have 2 Ecommerce websites built on WooCommerce.

I never really consciously put efforts into SEO until now.
1 of my sites is fairly new and the other has been receiving good traction for almost 1 year with over 600 visitors a day and around 20 orders average.

I am looking to improve this.
Ive installed Yoast SEO WooCommerce on both my sites.
But what am I supposed to do exactly?
How do I begin to rank??
Ive seen YouTube videos and they seem to be technical (too technical) and don’t really tell where to start.
Some talk about writing blogs. But how am I going to get traffic to my products with blogs
Some talk about backlinks, but how do I get backlinks from my country websites.

I am just lost. Looking for guidance

    Hello,

You first have to take care of the on-page SEO. That means SEO changes on the website. In this:

    0) Firstly, you have to identify relevant terms for every product and category page. Once you have the list of keywords, you will have the ammo to optimize the pages.

    1) Next, you have to make sure that your product title, description, images, and Meta details are optimized for relevant keywords.

    2) You also need to make sure that relevant products are linked with each other. This can be done through product descriptions.

    3) Technical aspects of every web page ought to be reviewed with keywords in mind so that correct optimization can be done.

Once the on-page SEO is done, you will have to think of Off-page SEO. This majorly means getting backlinks from relevant sites. You can get initial backlinks from free sources like social media, community sites, relevant forums, business listings, and free blogs. Slightly time-consuming but will pay in a few months.

Blogs can help divert traffic to product pages if you create the right blogs. For instance, if I run a store that sells clothes, I will start focusing on creating blogs on winter clothing since the season is coming. For instance, “best jackets for sub-zero temperatures” and “latest winter fashion trends”

If you are lost, I can help you navigate the world of SEO. Have been doing it for almost 9 years. Let’s chat to exchange ideas.

    Cheers

Look if your website is new or old, it requires sustainable SEO practices. It includes:
    1. On-page SEO( it includes making changes to elements like title tags, headings, content, and more.)
    2. Off-page SEO (Creating backlinks for your website)
    3. Technical SEO (it refers to website and server optimizations that help search engine spiders crawl and index your site more effectively to help improve organic rankings.)

You’ll require to reform all these 3 areas to rank your website higher.

First, change your perspective. Keep conversion is the first priority. Don’t put much effort in trying to rank on a short specific keyword. It will take a lot of time and may not result in many conversions.

There are four stages of the marketing funnel- awareness, interest, desire and action and in online marketing, we have the fifth stage is remarketing.

Write blogs on the use and advantages of the product & services and promote that blog through social media. So, people became aware of the product. By keep posting the blog on a consistent basis, the targeted customer can come to the interest stage.

It’s easy to rank blogs on long-phrase keywords and unique keywords which you can mention in social media posts, which imprints on the mind of customers, so when they try to search on google about your product, they may find your website first.

To generate more interest on your product, create descriptive product pages which answer all the questions of the prospects.

Also, write articles on quora and ask present users to write reviews for your product, a person who desires to buy the product and services you offer must go through the reviews of the user.

Finally, when the customer got converted, try to persuade him again to buy more by showing remarketing ads on social media to generate more sales. You must need repetitive customers to boost sales.

Remember, creating backlinks are a must for your business. Do thorough keyword research, create backlinks to rank on those keywords but have patience, you may got rank for variation of keywords but not on the exact keywords but that also bring conversion.

So, above is my theory to get more business through an e-commerce websites.

Installing Yoast SEO for your website is a good step in SEO. Glad, you have already taken it for your business. It does most of your on-page tasks and you can concentrate on other SEO activities.

Start with keyword research and link building. If you aren’t targeting keyword phrases with traffic you will not get much from Google. Some people get lucky and nail this without even doing the research. But if you aren’t then do the keyword research. Links are the competitions bar for ranking. Building links is always a good thing. I have a list of 100 good backlinks to get right off the bat. Let me know if you want it!
