Beginner Question: Top level domain change and website builder domain transfer
Hello, I have not done a domain transfer and I don’t want to mess up anything. I’m seeking help.
I have a WordPress site that I want to change the sub domain for.
**[example].com is a WordPress site.**
and
**[example].shop is a Shopify site.**
**Goal: I want to move the subdomain .com from WordPress to the Shopify site.**
**Desired outcome: [example].com sub domain exist on Shopify.**
Silly question, but happens to the WordPress site pages after sub domain is swapped over to the Shopify store? I assume there will be 404 errors that I’ll need to handle with redirects as needed.
I no longer have access to the WordPress site (at least for the time being) is that an issue? I do have access to the GoDaddy accounts associated with each domain and subdomain.

Do the migration and redirect old url to the domain if any. If your domain name doesn’t change there is no redirecting any url or traffic

there is a feeling of uneasiness when we change something in website thinking if it will work or not or what’s the right way to do it.
