  • Backlink not showing up on Semrush

Posted by Crazysports4577 on December 17, 2022 at 3:09 pm

I contributed to an article on HARO and they notified me that the article is live and I see that there is a link to my company URL on the article, but I don’t see it on Semrush when I am checking backlinks.

I had this issue before with Semrush and just shrugged it off b/c the article was live. Someone looked on ahrefs and said they saw the backlink.

Is this an issue with Semrush? Any other way I can check to see if the backlink is showing up for me?

Does the domain block SEMrush in their robots.txt? If yes, the link will never show up in SEMrush.

Otherwise, just wait and the backlink will show up eventually.

ahrefs is almost always faster than SEMrush in discovering and displaying new backlinks.

It doesn’t matter, though. SEMrush isn’t ranking your page dfor search.

semrush prob doesn’t have it in their database yet. If you see the live link you should be fine. You can also check ahrefs.com.

If you see it on GSC, then it means your baclink has been taken into account.

Great idea to check on GSC. I have been relying on semrush to check backlinks. Guess there is no reason to that when I can go to the source.

Semrush Ahrefs etc are probably not even half as effective at indexing things as quickly as Google

All that matters is if Google is aware of the link or not. Tools like Ahrefs and Semrush will never find all of your links.

Who cares if SEMRush is not showing your link at this time. You need to rank on Google not SEMRush or Ahrefs….

It will show up. I find SEMrush usually pretty fast, but not always. If google knows it’s there that’s all that matters.

For checking backlinks Ahrefs has better performance compare to Semrush

It doesn’t matter either Semrush index your links or not. (However, to notify semrush: Analyze the page containing your link a couple of times to Analyze, so Semrush bot will visit the page and will add your link to their database)

To check if this backlink is discovered by Google.

    Search on Google that

cache: url of post you got link from

    If cache returns 404

    Try this:

site: url of post you got link from

If you get a result in return that means your link is indexed.

If no result appears, means you still have to wait.
