    Hello,

I have a fairly elementary+ understanding of SEO, backlinks etc. We are preparing to hire a contractor to take on our SEO work to improve organic.

My question is; Does a network exist for peers who would might be willing to post each others URL on the others site? I think it would work best for sites with similar SEO value and DA and in related but not keyword competitive industries. EG a gardening blog and a landscape company or a dentist and a primary care, etc etc. They would agree to post each others blog on their own site and backlink appropriately.

Rather than sending coutless emails with low hit rates to sites, it seems that two sites could be “matched”.

    Does this exist anywhere?

If not- Ill start, RAIN is a plastic-free bottled water company. If there was someone in some type of sustainable business we could post each others blog and link to your site.

This is bad practise and google can see when 2 websites suddenly link to each other, so they consider is spam or something worse.

I wouldn’t do this. **Write good content that’s worth linking** to and you will get backlinks naturally, and more effectively.

This is known as reciprocal linking. Some sites do link one another, but it’s usually done in a natural way. The way you described it, would not be natural and you may risk a manual penalty. Also, there’s no real value to it.

The time + effort you put into this, would be better off using other more long term link building techniques.
