Automotive Industry – Facebook ads vs google/Bing ads. Any insights?

Posted by seohelper on July 4, 2020 at 1:23 pm

I’ve been using Facebook ads for my car selling company for a year now. We’ve gotten our CPLs to around £8 average, which is good because even if we spent £200 on ads and 1 person buys a £5000 car it’s still a huge profit.

I know how to use Google/Bing Ads but I never tried them due to our website being absolutely shit. Recently it was rebuilt and it’s very user friendly and I’m considered trying them out. We previously stuck with Facebook Ads because they were cheap and it wasn’t worth spending loads of Google Ads for zero conversions.

Does anyone in the car sales/automotive industry have any insights in which platforms are the best for them? Facebook Ads are ridiculously cheap compared to Google and Bing, but obviously the intent is different with social media compared to search.

We sell both cars and vans. Cars have been pretty easy to sell through Facebook Ads but vans haven’t. Vans are a very specific niche audience. I’m thinking we need Google/Bings Ads to sell more vans.

I got a medium sized used car dealer as a client. Fb works well however the volume is much higher on google. In numbers of leads 250/mo on fb and 1500/mo on google ads in average. CPL in google is slightly higher id say 1-2€.
