Two statements are true at the same time:
    – Many sites that rely solely on AI-generated content have lost 99% of their rankings after 6-12 months.
    – Some sites with a lot of AI generated content are doing very well at this point.

    My recommendation:
    – If you are an affiliate spammer, go all in on AI content.
    – If you are a brand, stay away from AI content. Or at least use it with caution.

    My suggestion:

AI can be utilized to generate ideas and assist in creating headlines and headings. However, I do not recommend using AI-generated content as-is for on-page purposes. Instead, you can leverage AI-generated content for off-page activities such as article submissions or WEB 2.0 platforms. But Don’t Use on Your Website.

There is no way to detect Ai content as it stands right now. Furthermore, Google is not against AI and has said as much. However, if you are just copying and pasting what ChatGPT puts out, THAT is bad content and that is why you will lose rank and possibly get deindexed.

Don’t know what is happening. Some guest post sites are not accepting hat AI content while we are using it on our websites. As far as I know, if it is good for user, if its provide value and information, it should be acceptable.

I really feel like AI content is overrated at this moment in time but people always want easy shortcuts. We have found the best utility of AI at the moment is to generate blog ideas/concepts and give us some general starting points and ideas for the blog (and sometimes it can pull useful data and statistics), but we still think a human writer is going to produce something far more engaging, insightful and valuable. That isn’t to say AI can’t do it, but it still has some way to go.

Garbage in garbage out. Not all AI written content is the same. It’s all about how much data and direction you provide that determines the quality of the output.

My handwritten content completely lost traffic(15k month), and my AI written articles are now ranking at the top of the SERP.

Sorry all, but I’m not getting this debate. Basically chatgpt is ripping off content I wrote for my old site about 6 years ago. Now I’m getting chat gpt to write the new content with focus on certain keyphrases. The only difference I can tell is now I don’t need 2 bottles of wine to write this shit.

i started a test project/website with 1000 purely written AI articles and pictures and it was indexed for a short while now deindexed down to 8 pages. Google Search console marks them as “Crawled – Not indexed”

“human content” can be much higher quality/creative (so far).. that means it will be rewarded as such by rankings – depending on keywords

If you are simply copying and pasting articles, you probably deserve to lose rank. If you use it as a tool to help research and get from a blank page to 600 words, then I don’t see the harm.

I enter the topic, ask it to write the article.

I re-write and then find attributions where I can (I’ve found ChatGPT attributions to be rubbish.)

I find chat can sometimes be helpful for an initial draft, but HEAVY edits are necessary to improve it

Seems to me AI mostly does little more than grab what it perceives to be the best information on a subject and present it as coherently as it can.

A useful shortcut perhaps but one of those ‘guide to the wise man, bible of fools’ things.

The best content is written by humans, AI just grabs it.

Experts remain experts even if their knowledge is being ripped off, they wrote the book.
