  • Are certain keywords banned in the Google Planner Tool?

Posted by seohelper on December 5, 2020 at 2:56 am

I occasionally use the Google’s Keyword Planner tool to perform basic keyword research for my blog. Today I found that for some keywords, the tool returns absolutely zero results. For example, I got zero hits for the word “bitcoin” or even any phrase or question containing this word like “what is bitcoin”.

I don’t believe its possible that people haven’t performed even a single search for this term in the last month. Are certain words banned in this tool?

Yes. Google Keyword Planner will show no volume data for keywords that it does not let you run ads on.

Also got no result when try “Face Masks” and “Covid-19” in Google Keyword Planner and all the words automatically remove, when you click on search.

The Google Keyword Planner is a tool for Google Ads, not for SEO.

Any keywords that violate Google Ads’ policies will not show up in it.

Yes, it can be a pain too. I did research for “Corona California” and everything’s banned due to covid.
