  • Any advice for a new account posting high-production videos once or twice a month?

Posted by seohelper on October 3, 2020 at 8:00 pm

I am starting a online publication and want to center the content on videos for the first phase of the launch. I will be posting on social only once or twice a month to begin with, because of the level of production (e.g., filming, video editing, voice over, sound, FX, etc). Is there any strategy I can use to attract followers even though I post so infrequently? Is this at all possible?

    Thank you!

    it’s impossible

[edit] hilarious that the truth is getting downvoted – the users of this sub of all people should know that 1-2x a month isn’t a successful posting cadence.

Post micro content and teaser stuff in the gaps. Document the process and share behind the scenes. Plenty of things you can do.

You could also spend a month preparing so you have a backlog of finished content before you launch.

Make behind the scenes videos engaging your followers. Ask them what they want to see and if they think this is okay or that’s okay. Sure you already have the entire video made already but they don’t know that.

Let them feel like they are a part of the process.

This helps with the build-up and helps them engage with the content at the end as well.

I recommend this all the time to singers who want to release a song. All they have to do is release snippets and spots where it looks like they are still building the song. All of that is really easy to do. One still doesn’t understand and gets frustrated when she only get 700 likes and then quits for a while.

You have to like the social media aspect. Or at least pretend like you like it, lol.

You have to build hype! Hype the process!

Be prepared for the sobering experience that people respond to garbage memes and bad edits rather high quality.

I think at once or twice a month I’d look at a cross posting relationship with pages that already have an engaged following that aligns with your intended audience.

For Instagram, daily posting is very important or atleast minimum of 4 posts per week!
Try to cut the content into small bits, maybe create a hype type post or a teaser, upload behind the scenes images or videos, upload th production process, an image of the set, an image of the team working, maybe have a series where every week 1 team member shares his experience in working on a specific project:

    Try and follow this:
    Monday: Small clip, teaser
Tuesday: BTS day! Share an image or a clip of something funny or interesting that happened BTW
Wednesday: Share time (or something like that) one of your crew shares his experience on a specific project
    Thursday: Small clip, teaser
    Friday: full video
Staurday: Full video part 2. or Ask the people about their feedback, favorite part (community engagement)
Sunday: Off day, o you can fill it with another clip of the project

And dont forget get the ENGAGE and DISTRIBUTE. Engage with your community and people around you, and distribute you content. If you posted something on Monday, doesnt mean you cant reshare it on stories on saturday
