Am I spamming?
Whenever I write an informal article, I always credit reputable sources to back up my claims by linking to their sites. If I have many references in an article, could it be considered spamming?

I don’t know about the spam element.. but you’re giving lots of opportunity/reason for people to leave your page, which you may want to reconsider..
Depending on what you’re writing, of course.. you may *need* lots of citations..

Context is everything if you’re contextualizing in the copy, don’t worry about it. You could always use the <cite> tag to add more context to tools but you should be fine if you what you’re simply doing is citing.
