GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 7:03 amCan you transition your art into visual branding? Or work for an art museum on building our their digital presence?

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 7:23 amPossible the agency life is the offender and not PPC itself.
Start a website as a means to get refreshed and re-engage. I’d guess everything will fall into place.
Or be an affiliate and sell products online via PPC.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 12:08 pmAny sort of entry analyst position (for another industry) should be applicable and you should have relevant experience.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 12:51 pmA few thoughts for a side hustle:
– Create PPC courses by industry. What works in one industry might not for another.
– Become a consultant where you just tell them what to do and how but leave execution to them
– Become a trainer for in-house teams

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 1:14 pmI recommend moving out of the agency side and go in-house, specifically looking for like Marketing Manager roles where PPC is a part of the role, probably an important part of the role, but not the whole role.
SMBs generally need marketing managers to be more broad, as they have limited FTEs. Agency PPC experience is a big selling point to bring someone into a role. Likely, your PPC experience also translates into landing page optimization, campaign planning and other general campaign team marketing needs.
Use the PPC background to move into a role that will expand your resume. This will allow you in the next job hunt after that to move up into a broader marketing leadership role.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 1:16 pmSounds like you’re burned out with agencies, not PPC. Either go in house where it’s calmer (and you’re more in charge of your life), or use your awesome skills for yourself and make $$$.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 2:03 pmThis means you are ready for the next level. It looks like managing campaigns is no longer challenging and you are ready to become more involved into strategy and managing other people. It doesn’t have to be your own business but you can join a company and mentor their juniors or get involved only when it comes to strategy and have someone else do the “manual labor”.
I was in the same position as well ( 5 years experience). I worked as a PPC manager and mentored a small team for a while which I loved then joined a corporation as a specialist and I hated it. I was overqualified for the position and strategy execution wasn’t challenging enough for me. It would have taken me probably another 5 years to get to a management position within the corporation due to politics and things moving very slow ( VERY old corporate agency) so I decided to quit. I was already freelancing for a couple of clients on the side so I decided to focus on that and also offer my services as a consultant. It hasn’t been long since I started but at least I’m happy.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 2:27 pmWhat about nonprofit marketing and development? You can use your skills in marketing and communications to generate donations and spread a nonprofit’s mission. The pay is less than private sector work, but it is more fulfilling and might be more your speed after an intense PPC career. You might really enjoy grant writing- it is still persuasive writing so your ad experience will be useful, but it is persuading people/companies/foundations to do good instead of just bolstering consumerism.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 3:10 pmIf you are good at ppc then you can make your own money.. why make someone else money for a fraction?

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 5:00 pmOne alternate thing you can do for yourself is look into developing your own affiliate relationship in promoting just one companies product or service offering or them and take a cut of the sales or so much per registration or whatever.
*Will take a few thousand dollars to invest into ads to get a campaign going but it’s worth it, i’ve also done this before and works out just fine using your kind of skills as well.*
It’s a lot different story when you are the one with the key’s to their results and will get a lot better treatment from your client overall.
*As a side note,*
Doing PPC management for companies that are less than a couple mill a year in revenue pretty much is only good for getting your feet wet because like the others said, they often have no idea how to run their business and end up blaming you for the BS thats going on in their business they are screwing up themselves.
Hope this helps.

GuestAugust 7, 2020 at 6:02 pmStart your own venture and earn 20x more! That’s what I did after six months working for someone else. I can tell being a mindless drone slave is not for everyone.
