  • Affiliate Earnings Dropped by Nearly 100% But Clicks are the Same and Links are Still Intact

Posted by seohelper on March 22, 2021 at 5:33 am

    Hey everyone,

I have a small affiliate site that I’ve been growing. Last month, I did about $40 in sales with a 10% conversion rate. However, this month, I’ve only done $3.75 in sales with a terrifying 2.97% conversion rate.

I’ve had the same number of clicks and I’ve checked to see if items are out of stock or affiliate links are broken but everything seems to be intact.

I understand that there are off months, but I don’t think it should be so bad where there’s that big of a difference.

Has anyone encountered this problem and what did you do to fix it?

it is very hard to give answer as people don’t know you are talking about marketing or SEO. also if you give much details like which platform and where you are getting problem? maybe affiliate marketing forum would be much helpful rather than SEO one??

This is probably more of a question relating to marketing than I is SEO. Affiliate programs like this don’t connect to SEO. It’s not the same thing.

You might get someone to answer but I don’t think this sub Reddit is the best place for the question

Simple users dint buy from affiliates. You can expect the same numbers all the time. And with a $40 and 10% conversion rate you can predict why. May be you can check after 15 days

I have this problem. You never know what could be going on. Could be chance, could also be one platform (or merchant’s link on a platform!) is somehow breaking.

For example, if someone clicks your link but then their Honey browser add on leaches the sale with a better discount code, you get nothing.

In my experience, it saves you a headache to just suck it up. Only bring it up to your partner if you really suspect something is going wrong. But your numbers are small enough that it could just be chance.

Have you checked with the affiliate network? Perhaps there is something wrong with the tracking on their end or they need to review your account. Sometimes vendors turn on manual approval for previously autoapproved affiliates (especially if they are sending non-converting clicks).
