    **Ad Extension Issue**

    The issue I am having is every time I click on MY ad the call routes to a recording then hangs up on the caller. In Google Ads reporting, shows 0 call duration.

    **Please see timeline**

    Sunday night: – Uploaded Campaigns using Call Only Ads. Using # X

    Monday: – Receiving calls via C/O ads.

    Monday Night: – Paused C/O Ads – Enabled Responsive Search Ads and Integrated Call Tracking Metrics.

    Tuesday: – No Phone Calls

    Wednesday: – Disabled Call Tracking Metrics Integrations with GA (Mid-Day) and was getting Calls.

    Wednesday Night: – Enabled Call Tracking Metrics Integration.

    Thursday: – No Calls from Extension.

    Friday: – 5 calls from extension that are not in Google Ads reporting.

    Saturday: – No Calls from extension. (Was disabling and re-enabling CTM Integration). Nothing all day.

    Sunday: – Calls from Extension when using X # that lives in a different Call Tracking Account but already lives in Google Ads

    **Please note somewhere in this time I was creating Tags within GTM**

    Please note that I am not facing issues currently as I have figured out a Band-Aid to the issue. I am using an OLD Extension # that WAS in this account, but routes to a Call Rail Account then Routes to a Call Tracking Metrics Account, then goes to my Call Tracking Metrics Account.

    This is not how I would like it set up. I would like it to go directly to my CTM using: # X. But every time I set the number account wide that’s when the voice recording issue occurs.

    I am currently using, # X but this number does not live in my mail Call Tracking Account.

    What would cause the Google Swapping Number to want to play this recording and hang up on the caller?

    I have troubleshot a lot.

    Now that I have it working with the Band-Aid fix, I turned off and on call reporting within GA. (Still works)

    Turned off and on the Integration between Call Tracking Metrics, and GA. (Still works)

    Would Google Tag Manager have something to do with this issue?

    The same time I changed the working # in the account back to X, I also noticed that there was an additional Google Tag Manager account associated with the domain that I had deleted. I thought maybe that would conflict with the phone call as well.

    – Date of Issue: January 9th – January 14th 2023.

    *** **The goal here is to use # X as the Extension number account & campaign wide, without the recording coming up and hanging up on the caller.

    The number in the ads account that is currently active is not associated with my Call Tracking Account.

    I know this is a lot. But want any readers to understand my issue.

    After putting it in writing I’m leaning towards a GTM issue. Feedback?
