According to the latest reports from FB 700 million people use Instagram and/or WhatsApp daily but NOT Facebook daily.

The growth rate of this cohort was up 5.1% in Q3 of this year (surpassing the growth rate of FB users).

Younger users are less likely to use Facebook AND Instagram ad revenue is growth twice as fast as Facebook.  It really highlights the importance of these other platforms for Facebook’s long term prospects.

Given the rapid expansion of TikTok it seems like instagram is more important than its ever been for FB.

Zuckerberg’s monetization strategy is busy killing IG and I suspect that the number of people using IG on a daily basis is much smaller than claimed. I can also confirm engagement on IG is falling rapidly with less time spent on the app. Facebook’s daily user count is also falling rapidly and will most probably collapse faster than I had estimated. Once again, it is Zuckerberg’s monetization strategy that is killing the platforms while at the same time, Zuckerberg is cashing in his shares in small amounts as to not alarm the market. Zuckerberg is basically jumping the ship he sank.

Instagram is and always has been a kids playground. As in no serious business discussion or transactions happen on there. Businesses like me try to sneak it looking like they came to play on the playground. But it’s the business that pays the bills. Not the reposted tiktok videos.
