I think changing the older articles eventually makes sense. But I’m not so sure changing the scope of all content for a wider audience is going to give good results if they already have lots of local traffic, so no, I don’t think it’s a good idea because it may drive away the traction that they’ve already got.

So maybe the best way to do this is to combine both – I believe they should try to write on said evergreen topics as long as they are topics of interest for the traffic from local keywords.
