I made two webpages in december written by Chat GPT. In the first couple of weeks, they got rising impressions. In January 2023 the impressions fell to zero per day. It is difficult for me to see another explanation that than Google has deemed the pages as AI written content, which it will not show in Google Search results. What are you guys’ good and bad experiences with using Chat GPT for SEO?

it’s not worth it atm, i think we’re all finding that it just comes off as too inauthentic. But who knows in the future, it could be the go-to!

    It’s a tool.

As with every tool, people can use it in a bad way, and in a good way.

Use it for outlining your text, get the first draft, capture some info that help you get to the finished content, and correct what need to be corrected, it still saved a ton of time, but OpenAI will charge for it soon so you better hurry ?

There’s been a number of statements from reputable sources that Google will be able to easily recognize AI generated content, and that ChatGPT has or is considering applying an even more obvious watermark.

Google has no interest in AI content from other people’s AI.
And other AI has little interest in giving Google their content for free.

Also ChatGPT is not accurate enough … YET … in the sense that it still gets a significant minority of it’s answers very wrong. I’d say give in 12-18 mths though.

But, let’s talk about how well this thing codes!!!
    – At last week’s ops meeting our Operations Manager (OM) showed us just how powerful ChatGPT is.
    – Last month one of our guys finished a small “improvement-project” to our in-house keyword automation program.
    – It took our guy perhaps 6 man days to add the new function to the existing Python code.
    – Our OM took the “pre-improved code”, and over 15 minutes, right in front of us, gave ChatGPT verbal code improvement commands, and built exactly what our guy had. IN 15 MINUTES!
    – The new code not only worked flawlessly,, but the code was better than the human code.
    – And then the OM asked ChatGTP to orient the code for a Amazon Lambda environment. Bam! Fuckin crazy!

When you publish them, did you publish without tweaking? Content needs to be tweaked.

Actually the content is unique as told by many tools but Google is somehow not ranking it and traffic seems to be lower than usual human written content.

If you copy and paste ChatGPT content you will get punished by Google sooner or later. If you are planning to use content generated by AI, then use it wisely – simply proofread it or even rewrite it on your own based on the text you got from it.

    Hi,

Was the content 100% made by ChatGPT or did you re-work the text written by ChatGPT ?

Even if Google said they don’t care about AI generated content, it still has to be informative and useful to visitors.

May not be related to ChatGPT at all, Google always test pages on the SERP’s and try to figure out what are the best pages for their users.

Do you have a high bounce rate on those two pages ? How many time is the average presence on page ?
