I’d tell myself to stop trying to “hack” IG and build a repeatable content system instead.
What I wish I started with:
1) Pick 3 content pillars and stay there for 90 days
– one education pillar
– one proof/results pillar
– one personality pillar
2) Use a simple weekly ratio
– 3 discovery posts (broad pain points)
– 2 trust posts (case study, behind the scenes, lessons)
– 1 conversion post (clear CTA)
3) Track only 3 metrics at first
– saves/share rate (content quality)
– profile visit rate (hook quality)
– DM/reply rate (offer clarity)
Followers alone will mess with your head early.
4) Write hooks before you design anything
If the first line is weak, the post is dead no matter how pretty it is.
5) Build in batches
I used to create daily and burn out. Batching 2-4 weeks at once made consistency way easier.
Best beginner resources are still: platform-native analytics + studying 20 top creators in your niche (manually logging hooks, formats, CTAs). That gives better signal than most courses.
If you want, I can share a super simple Notion tracking template format that keeps this organized without turning into spreadsheet hell.
