More specifically: Impressions and Clicks for the desired keywords
In GMB/GBP: whatever CTA drive business – Calls, Bookings, Directions, Clicks to website -

The best metric would be conversions, but there are very few businesses with accurate enough tracking to know a conversion came from SEO as a source.

There isn’t just one single metric that defines SEO performance before and after — it’s usually a combination of a few key indicators.
The most important one is <strong data-start=”386″ data-end=”405″>organic traffic, as it shows how many users are actually coming from search engines after your SEO efforts. Along with that, <strong data-start=”515″ data-end=”535″>keyword rankings help you understand if your target keywords are improving over time.
Another strong metric is <strong data-start=”638″ data-end=”666″>click-through rate (CTR) from search results, which indicates how appealing your titles and descriptions are. You should also look at <strong data-start=”776″ data-end=”791″>conversions (leads, sales, sign-ups), because traffic alone doesn’t always mean success.
Recently, many SEO professionals also track <strong data-start=”921″ data-end=”972″>impressions and visibility in AI-driven results, especially with the rise of AI summaries and answer-based search.
Many businesses investing in Search Engine Optimization services in Austin, Texas often compare a full set of metrics including traffic, rankings, and conversions to get a clear before-and-after performance picture.
So instead of relying on a single metric, it’s best to analyze a combination of performance indicators to measure real SEO impact.
