My thoughts are that SEO practices would not change necessarily. I think it would affect companies who had previously put in a lot of effort towards gaining SEO traction.

Google isn’t going to lose its position – AI Chat is a fad that will pass through once something new comes along and everyone changes their focus. Just like voice search about 8 years ago – everyone wanted to jump on the voice search bandwagon because it was going to fundamentally change everyone’s life…and just like that, it’s barely discussed anymore.

Why would that matter. The premier blogs rank because they have the answers to queries people ask about, and since they load quickly. Other engines would probably also want to show that.

There is currently an over-emphasis on content. There are too many similar “How to”-articles. That’s something search engines should take notice of.

When I search for ‘translate websites automatically’ I get a bunch of irrelevant “How to translate websites in 2023”-articles, pointing at 2-3 translation engines everybody knows. I’d rather see a greater selection of translation tools, including the well-known ones for completeness.
