What do you think about an analytics dashboard that allows you to view all of your marketing channels in one place?
Posted by No-Distribution-261 on May 4, 2023 at 12:55 pmHey everyone!
I’ve been thinking about creating an analytics dashboard that allows agencies/brands to view their Facebook ads, Google ads, TikTok ads, email marketing, etc. All in one place and in a simpler and prettier way.
I’m looking for software that does something similar to what I’m planning and analyzing how I can differentiate myself. I would appreciate if you could tell me any software that accomplishes this.
I would love to hear your honest thoughts on this idea.
THANKS!

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 1:12 pmMy agency just export .xlsx and .csv reports from Google and Meta and import it to whatever service suits our needs, which sometimes can be just Google Data Studio. Sometimes we don’t care about dashboards ourselves, Meta and Google already offer that. But we do need enough customization to provide pretty, but useful, reports to our clients.
I just noticed you mention “email marketing, etc”…Isn’t Hubspot about that?

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 1:29 pmThe gorilla in the room is supermetrics, which is the gold standard for most agency reporting. It lets you set hourly/daily/weekly dumps of data into Google sheets (or directly into looker studio) and then use looker or another tool (like Power BI) to visualize.
If you create a solution, there are tons of pre-packaged ‘look at my ads performance’ dashboards out there (DataBox is a solid one). But most of those tools are limited in how you can filter, customize, and adjust data. Because of that, most agencies just default to a tool like Supermetrics to bring in the raw data and they can manipulate it themselves.
Every time I evaluate prepackeged dashboards they are too limited for my needs.
But if you make a tool that does exactly what Supermetrics does, doesn’t break, integrates with Google Sheets seamlessly, pulls from the top 10 ad platforms (Google, FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.) and doesn’t cost me $3k/yr I’d switch today.

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 2:41 pmThis is already a pretty competitive market with thinks Google Data Studio / Looker Studio, Supermetrics, 2 Minute Reports, and a lot more than I can even name. You can try it, but you’re going to see a lot of competition. Generally, one should try to minimize competition.
Edit: I will say that SuperMetrics is WAY too expensive for many small businesses. If you can beat them on price and be competitive with them on quality and service, then you may have a market.

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 2:41 pmOur agency uses AgencyAnalytics. Easy to use, reasonably priced, and quite a few tool integrations.

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 7:09 pmYou can use ReportGarden. Their new version of reporting enables data blending and customised visualisations.
They also offer to build custom dashboards through their data pipelines project, which is not crazy expensive like Supermetrics costing 3k USD per month but starts at 300$ per month.

GuestMay 4, 2023 at 7:16 pmNot to open a can of worms, but are you trying to account for things like attribution and de-duping across your channels? Do you have a single source of truth where conversions (assuming you have them) are captured consistenly across each channel?

GuestMay 5, 2023 at 5:12 amOne of the ways is to extract data from all platforms (Google Ads, TikTok ads, etc) tru some automated data extractor (like Fivetran) and send it to BigQuery. In biquery all your data will be stored in one place. From there you can use LOOKER or other BI tools to create reports.

GuestMay 5, 2023 at 6:06 amAt our company, we have been using a tool called Sprinkle Data. The best part is they have the data extractor as well as dashboarding options. To start with their free plan might serve your purpose.

GuestMay 5, 2023 at 8:44 amThere’s also agency analytics, Dreamdata and whatagraph. If you look at them and their alternatives you might spot a gap. Very often there’s no size fits all especially for corporates and attribution (and they end up spending months/years to build one on their own) so if you could find a way that someone to hire you to build one for them that might be the sweet spot of differentiation.

GuestMay 5, 2023 at 10:47 amSupermetrics (paid), Swydo (paid), and Looker Studio (free) all do this already. You can also build a dashboard in Google Analytics although it’s not as robust and takes more effort to put together.
