Targeting Operating Systems on Google ads?

Posted by seohelper on March 8, 2021 at 8:44 am

Hi guys, I am promoting a windows only compatible software on Google ads using Display and Search.

The conversion rates are not high enough but I did some digging into my google analytics that is linked to the google ads campaign and found out that less than 10% of people that clicked on my ad are using Windows. (Most of them are on Chrome OS or Mac which I don’t want)

CTR% on the ads are between 0.60% to 1.5% so the ads shouldn’t be the problem.

I created a Non-windows audience on Google analytics and excluded them from the campaign but its not bringing down the % of non-windows audiences.
Is there any way for us to only target Windows OS users on the google Ads platform?

Seems weird that most users are mac/chrome OS. Are you sure that’s the case?

Not 100 pct sure but this is what I think.

Analytics won’t work as a negative audience I think because it only collects data of people ho have been on your website. So It would only exclude them the second time.

For display campaigns, in the settings you can target operating systems . This would be how to do it.
