I wouldn’t look at “social” at the whole entity but break down the digital marketing needs.
If writing is your background, and you want to get into content marketing you can use your skills in the following ways:
1. Writing post copy for social (ie. working with the designers after the fact)
2. Writing blog content – which a designer could turn into a post carousel
3. Writing outlines for infographics that could be turned into social content
4. Writing scripts – for youtube videos, tiktoks etc.
5. Copyediting – proofing and making sure posts / creative don’t have spelling errors
6. Email copy – subject lines, preview text, body of the paragraphs
7. Optimized profile bios + descriptions
You’d be surprised how much writing is involved in social and the amount of people who aren’t good at it 😀
