Hi guys, I am stuck in SEO tutorial hell and watched countless videos, read so many articles and what not and am stuck in this tutorial hell. I want you to check my SEO knowledge now if I know correctly and following right methods for my SEO clients.

    1. Competitor Research

–> I first find out top competitors for our seed keywords

–> Check their top pages, backlink profile and overall domain authority and traffic.

–> Check their website, analyze their website deeply, their content/website structure

–> Compare with my client site and find out what we can do better or missing

    Keyword Research
-> I do deep keyword research using tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, google suggestions, reddit queshions, and various other methods.

–> I check search intent very deeply wheather top ranking pages are blog posts, commercial pages, or listicles.

–> I also do keyword gap analysis and see my top competitor pages.

–> Then I do keyword clustering and make topical map.

–> Yes! I first target low difficulty but BOFu keywords then later target TOFU & MOFU keywords for topical authority

    Content Research/Creation
–> After selecting right keywords, I deeply check top ranking results and match the intent, see what other page are missing and what I can do better in every aspect.

–> Great high quality content with proper internal linking and On page SEO

    Backlinks
–> Then I create backlinks, don't want to spend much time about this explaining this.

    Technical SEO

–> Check if there are any broken links, keyword cannabilization, sitemap or robots.txt, core web vitals, or other technical seo issues

    AEO/GEO/LLMO

–> Then I don't have to do this which scammers on fiverr, upwork or YouTuber selling their expansive GEO optimization service, course or tutorials cause there is nothing to do anything

–> SEO is foundation of AEO. Most AI assistance already cites the page which are already in top 10

–> The only difference is we can optimize it for direct answer within heading, faq, schema to get more probability of citation etc

Then I proceed with again SEO tutorial hell:
–> I watch again countless other SEO tutorials and don't do any shii…

Let me know how much do you rate my SEO knowledge? And how do I actually execute my knowledge and avoid productive procrastination and perfection?

–> I deeply check top serp page and

Your knowledge is pretty good. Just want to add few things, clean UI/UX, SEO optimized meta title and meta description

    Stop reading, and starting doing.

You can read all the info you want but like any other field, if you don’t “execute your knowledge” you won’t know if it works or not.

What what I got from this list is most of it is auditing/checking which is good but what changes will you make?

    >–> Great high quality content with proper internal linking and On page SEO

    >Backlinks
–> Then I create backlinks, don’t want to spend much time about this explaining this.

This is what stands out the most of why so many people fail at SEO. They spend so much time creating “Great high quality content” but who determines if it’s great? Search engines and LLMs? It’s purely subjective.

You will get better results focusing on “content” and “Great high quality backlinks”. Why would you not spend much time on backlinks but spend time on everything else?

Yes, I would add if not implied:
    – Get user’s job done, so he won’t return back to SERP with this query
    – Work on your CTR on your snippet on SERP (from different angles, have images in different aspect ratios on the page, work on title/description)
    – User-engagement: do whatever you can to keep people on the page for longer and click around (like tools, rankings, tables, decision trees, images, comments, quizzes and so on)

Your framework is solid enough to stop watching tutorials and start shipping. The missing piece is mostly prioritization.

Pick one client, one goal, and one 30-day sprint. For example, fix technical blockers, publish 4 BOFU pages, update 5 existing pages, and build internal links. Track impressions, rankings, clicks, and conversions weekly.

SEO gets clearer once you have real before and after data. Tutorials feel safe, but execution teaches way faster.

honestly you’re not stuck bc you lack knowledge, you’re stuck bc you’re overprocessing it, your flow is mostly fine like 7-8/10 but real seo isn’t this clean checklist, the big gap is actually shipping and learning from data bc all that research means nothing until pages are live, indexed and getting impressions, also saying backlinks isn’t worth explaining is kinda a red flag since it still matters a lot in most niches, i’d just pick 1 site or even 1 page go end to end publish it then iterate from gsc and stop watching tutorials for a bit bc it feels productive but it’s not actually moving rankings

Ha, this sounds like me from a year ago. 😀

Here’s a few things I have learnt about since then:

    1) Google is content agnostic

    2) Cornerstoning and authority (organic traffic, backlinks, location)

    3) On page – KW in slug, title, h1

    4) Backlinks from pages with traffic are what matter; KW in anchor text

    5) The new pages you publish get internal links from your currently ranking pages getting traffic, on the basis of their ranking potential

    6) Don’t overcomplicate Pagespeed and tech stack – not ranking factors

    7) Schema doesn’t help you rank unless you are from hospitality or airlines industry

    8) Learn about query fan out for AI citations
