New to BMW ownership, how do I spot a garage that actually knows these cars?

A colleague at work mentioned a workshop that focuses on these engines and told me to explore this page to see what kind of work they handle, but I’d rather hear from actual owners before I commit to anything. I’m not chasing the cheapest option, I just want someone honest who won’t invent problems to bump up the bill. How do you even tell if a garage genuinely knows BMWs or if they’re just saying it to get your business? Any pointers would be really helpful since I’m still learning the ropes with this car.
