Max Clicks or Max Conv ?
Posted by filthy_mug on May 15, 2023 at 4:04 pmIs Max Clicks better or Max conversion if we have low budget and sales is the objective? I am worried Max Conversion will eat up all the budget and Max Clicks will send me low quality traffic?
Edit : That’s a lot of incredible inputs I’m receiving from you guys. Truly amazing

If sales are your goal, go for Max. Conv. Let the algo run for about two weeks and assess ROI.
CPA too high? Optimize KWs and landing page. Make your ad copy clearly explaining your offerings.
If the CPA is acceptable, aim to switch to TCPA.
The more optimized and researched your campaign is going into it, the better your chances of success.

GuestMay 15, 2023 at 10:35 pmUse target CPA for conv campaigns. If just conv then Google will bid on any keyword it thinks may convert without regard to the CPC. With target CPA, you’ll keep your cpcs lower and get more high quality clicks out of your budget.

GuestMay 16, 2023 at 3:24 amTo clarify, my tCPA campaigns always have lower CPAs and CPCs than max conv campaigns. The tCPA campaigns have lower CPAs than manual CPC campaigns. I’ve found some outrageous CPCs on max conv camps. Google has no conscious with the CPCs on those. I’ve had Google charge me an entire days budget on one click. It has never done that on a tCPA campaign. Knock on wood…

GuestMay 16, 2023 at 11:54 amPPC Manager with 15 years experience here. Never start with Max Conversions, especially when you have a low budget. Take a stair-step approach and start with Max Clicks. You will need 30 conversions in 30 days for the Max Conversion algorithm to even work. Once you have that test it for 14-30 days. With a low budget you may need to run it longer because low budgets accumulate data slowly. If it works, you can turn target a specific CPA. Hope that helps.
