Is there any reason not to put your sales page URL in your Facebook ad post/copy?

I usually saved a lot of FB ads, either emailing them to myself or just saving them using the FB save post function. I did that when I see something that I wanted to buy, but am not yet in the mood.

When I reopened the ads from the URLs that I saved, I noticed a lot of advertisers didn’t put their sales page URLs in the post. If I’m lucky, the sales page is somewhere in their page’s bio, but some don’t have it anywhere other than in their CTA button.

I’m curious to know why is this a common practice? Usually in my ads, I would just put 3 links to my ecomm page lol

    I have noticed that too.
I think general assumption is that people will click cta button and be linked to page so in theory why would you put another link.
But when we did it we always put it in the copy and ctr was always higher.

I think in general people underestimate these small thing… dont get me started on linking the actual product page to the ad of the product. Many times i landed on a category page….

Cause it looks ugly and you go to the URL by clicking literally anywhere on the photo or button anyway, unless you’re using the “use existing post” functionality, which you shouldn’t be using anyway. If you use “create ad”, clicking anywhere but the post text will take you there anyway…
