Intermittent Google Ads “Destination not working” issue despite successful AdsBot emulation
Hi everyone,
I’m dealing with an intermittent Google Ads “Destination not working” issue affecting a ticketing/events website.
Some example URLs affected:
https://shop.playpatagonia.com/rugby/
https://shop.playpatagonia.com/rugby/mundial-australia-2027/
https://shop.playpatagonia.com/mundial-2026/mundial-20261/
Google support reviewed the case and said AdsBot is having accessibility issues when crawling some destination URLs.
They asked me to test the site by overriding the browser user agent in Chrome DevTools using:
- AdsBot-Google
- AdsBot-Google-Mobile
I followed the exact steps they shared and, after emulating both Google Ads bots, I’m not seeing any blocking or rejection affecting the bots. The pages load correctly from my side.
The site runs on Tienda Nube, a LATAM eCommerce platform somewhat similar to Shopify. I also checked this with their support team and they confirmed they are obviously not intentionally blocking Google bots.
What’s strange is that:
- the site works correctly for users
- URLs load normally in browsers
- disapprovals appear intermittently
- sometimes ads get approved again without major changes
At this point I’m just trying to understand what could realistically be causing this kind of intermittent behavior with Google Ads crawlers.
Has anyone experienced something similar or can help me understand what might be happening?
Thanks a lot.
