Hi all – I run my own small digital marketing and comms agency working primarily in social media management. I’m no expert or guru or whatever, but I’m good at my job and I like it. This year I want to shift focus into influencer management. Eventually, I want to offer a full-service firm for influencers, management, accounting, events, accounting, editors, etc. In the short term, I need to like, start managing people. So far I’ve done a few free consultations and given some growth tips and reviewed profiles, just to build up some knowledge and test my growth reccs.

I’m excited to jump into it, but I’m hesitant because I just don’t know how to offer my management and how to frame the benefit I bring to an influencer. How does one just straight up ask to manage an influencer? Especially when one is still a very small agency?

Additionally, if anyone in influencer management/marketing/social media is looking for a mentee, ya girl could use some career guidance, just in a general sense!

Do you have a particular niche/focus when you say influencers? Typically a good way to start if you don’t have access to larger influencers, is to grow from a set of smaller accounts.

Have you tried reaching out to and onboarding smaller influencers? I also recommend niching down. Become an agent for a specific type of influencer. They typically hang out in the same circles that are thematic.

Also, offer less services. Make it really simple for them and grow your services out once you have a roster of clients.

Basically, find a corner to gain traction. Hope this helps.
