Indexing and Authority – nobody in the sub is saying you need mega-authority
Posted by on April 26, 2026 at 1:30 amWhenever there is talk about authority, getting backlinks, earning authority – I've seen a couple of outsiders claim I'm a backlink shill etc – I assume because of my handle – which just means linking the web together.
Posting this from a prototype project we ran last year – its an M&A satellite and its not an EMD/PMD – its just a branded domain that we ran for a project.

Hey u/Weblinkr – thanks for sharing this.
A few questions if you don’t mind:
– The site has 0 keywords in the top 3 but is pulling 7.9k traffic. Is that traffic coming from keywords sitting in positions 4-10, or is most of it actually being driven by the 88 AI Overview citations and the heavy SERP feature presence?
– Related to that, since there’s nothing in the top 3, does it mean the AI Overview citations are being pulled from pages ranking in positions 4-10? Or can AI Overviews cite pages ranking lower than that?
– And is a big part of what’s working here just that the niche itself is low competition?
– Also, is this site basically running the cornerstoning playbook? As in, find low personal PKD keywords, publish pages targeting them, identify the beachheads that rank, then expand outward with related content and internal-link from the beachheads to help the new pages rank?
– It seems it took about 3 months to reach 11k in cumulative traffic – as per your experience, does it usually take that much time on AVG to reach such a milestone? Or it depends onnthe niche & competition? Where does most of the time spent go into? Keyword research? Waiting for GSC data to update and work off of it? Or something else?
