    Ideas for my sofa website

Posted by Consistent_Ad3741 on June 4, 2023 at 10:18 am

I run a website selling sofas in the UK and have done so for a year now. An agency used to manage my ads but I am taking a short break from them whilst I deal with a few business issues and make some changes to my website. Right now I am not running any ads.

The improvements I want to make is introduce new versions of my products that will allow us to target keywords that have higher traffic. So far I have only sold velvet sofas and furniture. I now want to also sell leather and fabric versions and want to target the related keywords.

I have invested heavily in my own proprietary product imagery including lifestyle images with my products in home settings. Some are really too notch and I hope that the investment in these image assets will pay off in the end and help increase conversions.

I am looking for ideas about how to improve my PPC campaigns. The agency I have used for were quite good and would use performance max and shopping campaigns. Initial budget was £1,500 pcm but quickly rose to about £5,000 but I rarely hit that and the account would usually end up spending about £3.8k – £4.2k.

AOV is £900. Current niche is velvet sofas and model related keywords. Now I want to focus on leather and fabric sofa related keywords whilst still focusing on brand awareness and model related keywords.

Sounds like it’s time to go back to the agency.

If the agency was only using PMax and standard shopping, you would need to upgrade your shopping feed to include leather and fabric sofas SKUs. Have those SKUs follow the same structure as your other SKUs in the shopping feed.

If you are not running any search ads or dynamic search ads right now. Take the search term report form standard shopping campaigns and use that to build search campaign as a test. Look at site search data in Google Analytics to see if there are other keywords you can add in your search ads. You can also look at Google’s other people ask or their keyword planner to get more ideas.

In the end, take what is working in the ad account and use that to build on your success with the new SKUs. After that you need to leverage the data you have in the ad account, Google Analytics and other places to continue to scale the ad account.
