How to deal with identical content that appears on multiple pages
Howdy,
I’m working on a client’s site and they need to create a page that has the same content repeated over and over again on several pages.
So, to illustrate, let’s say you have a site for a company that is highly regulated. So much so, in fact, that at the bottom of many, many pages, the lawyers insist on publishing a disclaimer. It’s the identical disclaimer everywhere, and it’s kinda long.
The disclaimer will have no keywords, of course, but it will contain the company name and the full address on every similar page.
My questions:
* Does that affect (local) SEO in any way? I’ve never dealt with this situation before, and I’m not sure. I also would prefer not to experiment too much.
* I will try to see if it’s possible to tell people that the disclaimer exists, put it on a separate page, and have them click on it to read. However, if that’s not possible, and if the answer to the previous bullet point is “Yes,” how do you suggest mitigating the negative effects (if any)? Thanks,
L
