  • How I structure prompt-to-image workflows for product visuals

Sharing a workflow note after a few weeks of producing product visuals from prompts.

The friction I kept hitting was not the generation itself. It was keeping the asset consistent across formats: one hero shot, a square cut for social, and a cleaner version for the category page. Re-running a prompt from scratch each time drifts, so I now keep a short reference set and iterate in place instead of starting over.

For the reference-and-edit part I have been using Seedream 5.0 Pro — it works from prompts, existing photos, sketches and several references at once and lets you refine in the same pass, which cut the number of regenerations per layout considerably.

Two things that made a visible difference for me:

    1. Keep the reference count low. Three or four angles beat a folder of twelve.
    2. Write the layout constraint into the prompt, e.g. “vertical poster, clear space on the right for text”, instead of cropping afterwards.

Curious how others handle the case where the same product shot has to work in both landscape and portrait without a second shoot.
