has social media trained people to treat conversations as disposable?
something i have noticed across online communities and chat based platforms is how quickly conversations start and die now. people engage fast, reply instantly for a short period, then disappear without any real conclusion. it feels different from older internet communities where people invested more time into ongoing conversations and recognizable online friendships. i am curious whether this is mainly caused by platform design, short form content habits, attention spans, or just broader cultural shifts in how people communicate online.
