Google Shopping Ads – 2000 products catalog, Auto or Manual?
Hi all, it’s 3 months I’m advertising on Google Shopping a catalog of about 2000 products.
I tried manual bidding in the very beginning without being profitable (probably I was doing all wrong since it was my very first approach to Shopping Ads and Google Ads in general).
After being helped by a Google rep I was able to achieve profitability going from auto to ROAS and going from 1 order daily losing money, to 2 the next month and to 4.5 this month with an AVG ROAS of 2.6 and a slight profit.
The problem is that whenever I try to scale by increasing the budget or decreasing the ROAS it just stops working and I get lot of what seems to be junk traffic.
I know the volume is there, other similar retailers with a big catalog and in the same niche average anywhere from 50 to 1000 orders daily.
I am wondering about going back to manual bidding using the knowledge I acquired during the last 2 months, but what do you suggest in my case?
What do you suggest? Going full manual or keep waiting for an auto optimization miracle that may come or not?
I would be happy to wait but despite the sales so far are profitable, I need at least triple what I am doing just to breakeven the monthly biz expenses. I would need to go from avg daily sales of 4.5 to at least 15.

Thanks
Much love
