Google Ads Conversions Disappearing
Posted by on November 25, 2022 at 5:53 pmI’ve started noticing that, across many client accounts, it’s becoming much more common to see a conversion happen in Google Ads and then see that exact conversion disappear if you check again days later. Besides refunds and things like that not explaining why it seems to have just started happening so frequently, I have even verified some of these purchases with the client and narrowed down that they are real and should be counted.
Has anyone else seen that recently or know what may be going on?

I don’t check that sort of thing so I couldn’t tell you. Since I automate data gathering each day, I could set it up but I never thought about it nor see a need to do so.
What I do know is that if there is a refund, it doesn’t remove any conversions. I’ve seen refunds where there was a conversion. These are where there was one click, the click removed and the conversion remains. An infinite conversion rate. In effect, the client had a free conversion. The system seems to be very liberal in how it refunds clicks, at the very least, it’s not perfect.
