GA4 is complete trash | Looking for a replacement (Recommendations wanted)
Posted by on July 6, 2023 at 5:45 pmMany of us now see how bad Google failed in the launch of GA4. Metrics don’t add up, completely missing data. Clients are freaking out so I’m switching to something else, I’m thinking Piwik, but looking for recommendations

If you are ok with something very simple I just installed Burst Statistics and really like it. The analytic features are very basic but other features are great like the ability to defer the Java to help load time, cookieless tracking and other stuff like that.

I’m using Matomo (formerly Piwik), and I really like it. Self-hosted, some tech skills were required, there is a cloud version much easier to install but quite expensive if your client has many page views per month.
