    Facebook Ads Testing Creatives/Audiences

    Posted by seohelper on February 15, 2021 at 6:01 am

    Hi All,

    When you’re finding a winning creative and audience is it normal to wait 2 days and then make a new campaign with the winners or is it better to wait 3-4 days if my budget allows for more testing?

    Stats end of day 2:

    * Campaign: Conversions, CBO on
    * Budget: $100/day
    * Adsets: 10 (different interests)
    * Creatives: 4 (different creatives)
    * Campaign ROAS: 2.2
    * Total Sales: 2.
    * Winners: Each sale came from 2 different adsets. Both sales came from the same creative.

    Mainly asking because according to a video by Verun Ecom he says after two days you should make a new campaign. Should I wait a little longer, turn off some losing adsets or how would you proceed?

    Once you determine which audiences provide the best results, the next step is to use those audiences to refine your text and visuals. Testing text involves variations on headlines, ad copy, and calls to action. Testing creative involves variables such as single images, video, and dynamic elements like carousels.

    Usually longer testing is preferred, I give my ads 3-4 days to learn if they become fatigue because Facebook also takes time learning your best performing audience/creative.

    There’s also a tool (pudding.ai) that shows real time creative analysis with info that helps you understand what elements make it work (including copy).

    This is a nuanced conversation, shouldn’t base it on these rules of thumb, in my opinion it depends on your budget, number of ad sets and ads.

    Even in a CBO it seems like your budget will be spread thinly with 10 ad sets and 4 creatives each. So it will be hard to tell which is the winners after only 2 days. Would say let the ad sets and then ads get closer to spending your target CPA or AOV before looking at the metrics and deciding which is best.

    Use a statistical significance calculator to determine if you need more time.

    I would wait as long as 5 to 7 days. I think the person you are getting the YouTube advice from is being a bit too premature with that advice. Not to accuse this person of being unethical but I never trust YouTube videos on Facebook ads, because they get more views the more you mess up. Because then you’ll go back to the video and comment asking for help. Or in your case, come back 2 days later writing a comment with your results and asking for help. More engagement and more views per person who implements the strategy.
