Does target roas use only purchase data?

Posted by DatOverThinker on December 17, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Just wondering if Target Roas will only use the purchase (primary) data, or does it also use the add to cart data? I’m passing revenue numbers for both and in reports, it only breaks down all conv revenue.

Also is there a way to see just purchase rev in reports?

Target ROAS uses whatever the conversion value is for the conversions in the bidding strategy it could be add to cart value, purchase value or any other action or combination of actions that you assign value to.

For reporting you can use the all conversion value metric with a segment added for conversion action and/or setup a custom column that filters the all conversion value metric and conversion action for what you want. The benefit of the latter is that you don’t need to add a segment to the report to view it.

If you have assigned values to secondary conversions, it will use those as well

But apart from just conversion value, there are various other signals like device, browser, intent, history… it uses to set your bids in auctions to hit your target ROAS
