Does facebook allow email collection? How about pop-up signup forms?

Posted by seohelper on February 14, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Is there a current summary of what Facebook allows/disallows or bans?

For example, can we advertise a product and send the reader to a squeeze page with a signup form?
Can we have a pop-up signup form?
Can we advertise sweepstakes with signup forms?

Thanks for any advice on this – much appreciated!

    Hey there,

    Here’s Facebook’s Ad Policies. [https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/](https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/)

From my understanding, once you get them to your website, it’s all fair game (there is a policy about functional landing pages though, read that).

Facebook has built-in lead ads to get people’s emails (lead forms and message leads) which work quite well.

If you’re doing the lead generation through Facebook’s tools, it’s much more tightly regulated but the traffic is cheaper.

If you’re doing the lead gen through a landing page, it’s much less strict but your CPA is probably going to be higher as you have more drop-off points (getting the user out of Facebook, having a good landing page, ect).

You can always read Facebook’s terms and policies to clarify any doubt, but Facebooks has a specific campaign objective to collect mails: Leads Ads.

Regarding to traffic, you should be able to send your client anywhere you want as long as it is a working landing page (and of course, as long as it complies with Facebook Policies). There is no problem on sending your traffic to a sign up form, but if leads is what you’re looking for, I would strongly recommend a Lead Ads campaign ✌?
