Cheap press release offers

They say that they can get you on 200+ popular websites, new sites like forbes, fox, etc. A quick search on google told me that these kind of services usually ranges from 1k to 5k and above.
My question is, what’s the catch? If anyone tried these types of services, what should I expect from it? -

The links are no follow and it’s the same article distributed over all the sites, it’s not completely valueless but it’s not worth 100 bucks that’s for sure

I have a subscription to a similar service. Once a year I buy the 25 press release package for $1000. I write the press releases. My clients like it because they have legit press release needs. I charge $400 per. Been doing it since 2011. Back in the good days of 5r, some guy sold be a 100,000 journalist email database for $5 lol
