My sister started a yt channel today, and she only have a few likes and a few views. They were of her dancing to some trending dances, and I think it's just doing bad because she's very new to posting. She was thinking a makeup tut video could maybe help her? She wants to say mostly yt shorts though. She's open to posting any content and is sad because she doesn't think its doing good. Any help or advice?

She just started today!! She really needs to be a lot more patient. Growing an audience on YT is a long-term effort. It makes no sense that she’s sad that her channel that *she just started today* is not doing well. Of course it isn’t!! No one knows she exists yet. It can take a long time to get noticed.

Also, she needs some kind of plan/strategy instead of posting random things. If she is going to post makeup tutorials, what does that have to do with dancing? It’s better to focus on one topic so people will easily understand what her channel is about so they can decide to follow.

Another thing she should keep in mind: What makes her content unique and interesting to watch? There are already tons of makeup videos, dance videos, and other videos on YT. What makes her content stand out? This is a hard question to answer and it’s something she needs to carefully think about over time.

There’s really no hard-cut way to go viral. The virality of a content is usually a product of luck and originality, not something you can force. Yes, some structure would help, but it’s never a guarantee.

However, one piece of advice I can actually give you is to stick to a specific niche and avoid jumping from one type of content to another. If your sister wants to do dancing related content, then focus on that instead of jumping to a makeup tutorial in the next video.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, give it some time. Building traction is not easy, and content creation normally takes longer to pay off than most people expect.

Going viral isn’t something you can plan, but you can improve the chances.

At the start, low views are completely normal. New accounts need time for the algorithm to understand who to show the content to.

Instead of trying random things, it’s better if she picks one direction and sticks to it for a bit. Dancing, makeup, or something else, but not everything at once. That helps the content get recognized.

Also the first few seconds matter a lot. If the start isn’t strong, people scroll quickly.

More than going viral, focus on making videos that people actually watch till the end. That’s what usually leads to growth.

Vitality is subjective. I’d argue that an account with 50 subscribers reaching 3000 views is viral.

If you dont know how to go viral, easiest strategy is to just do a research of what goes viral in your niche, and try to re-create it with your own take. I usually use [https://www.contentcopilot.so/](https://www.contentcopilot.so/) for that
