Ad costs in Google don’t stack up?!

Posted by Cellsforlife on November 28, 2022 at 11:07 am

Why are only some of my costs allocated to Ads and Keywords – where else would I be spending budget?

For example, I spent $1000 in October. When I drill down look at Ads, the total might be e.g. $880. Keywords might be e.g. $750.

How can I account for the total $1000.

Would dynamically created Ads be the remainder of this cost, or something else?

If you have DSA campaigns, dynamic search ads, you’re not using keywords, so yeah, that could be the reason, other could be if you delete keywords

DSA campaigns, shopping campaigns, Display campaigns as well as Automated campaigns that do not show keywords might be the reason. In general any campaigns that either don’t work with keywords or don’t show you the keywords. And of course the campaigns that are not actively running anymore might have caused costs.

Do you run local service ads?

If you have search partners and display turned on in your search campaign, that won’t count towards keywords
