9 years and no results
Posted by lostinlife93 on October 15, 2023 at 11:03 pmI have been teaching myself social media coursed for years. Taking Google certifications, Reading white papers, implementing the strategies, but I’ve never seen the viral numbers people talk about. I have converted likes to sales but it’s not a large amount of sales to make an impact and I’m not sure why. I’ve had clients leave in the middle of things before we saw any progress so I’ve never really got to grow pages or see them grow. Is this normal? It’s been 9 years and I’ve been taking in all of this information and none of it has been working.

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 12:31 amSEO is hard and have to wait min 6 months and if google didnt change their algo, it works or need to try again and wait longer. you need to come up another way to solve this problem without depending on google SEO.

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 8:33 amI’m running my 3rd Instagram page and Yt channel now after 2 failed attempts, what I feel is its impossible to get organic traffic on genuine stuff ( like singing or teaching) its easier to go viral for weird stuff like making weird faces or doing something stupid that makes people laugh or criticize you in comment section, have u tried making such content ?

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 1:36 pmFirstly, ‘viral’ isn’t the only measure of success. You may not be hitting viral numbers, but consistency and genuine engagement often result in long-term loyalty. Have you considered revisiting your target audience or revising your content strategy? Sometimes, a fresh perspective helps. Hang in there!

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 1:36 pmI totally feel you. It took me ages before I saw any significant results. Social media can be tough, especially with algorithms constantly changing. Sometimes, it’s just about finding that one thing that clicks with your audience.

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 3:45 pmDo you remember the majority of knowledge that you learnt? I know by myself that I was overconsuming knowledge just to learn more but forgot like 70% of it. Now I focus more on not losing the knowledge. Plus if you have all the knowledge solidly remembered it’s easier to create new ideas and by inspired by others ideas.

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 4:31 pmThis is absolutely normal. In fact, this is the daily routine of 99% of marketers :).
The viral effect is in most cases either great luck or incorrectly measured indicators, when for example 3 people came to the page, 2 made an order and WOW! Conversion 67%!
Such projections from the particular to the general are one of the most common manipulations when selling various courses. In reality, everything is much calmer and more prosaic: victories alternate with failures and systematic improvement of performance.

GuestOctober 16, 2023 at 4:40 pmThis is more relatable than you’d think it is. Just spent 30 hours building a funnel that’s failing miserably. Proofed and changed it like 4 times now. Ive been in marketing for 5 years. It’s all a process.

Working alone for 9 years or on a team make for two very different experiences. You might have to make a team around your one-man-show.
