    Biggest mistake is building a whole site before proving a single page can rank and get traffic. People spend weeks on design, structure, tools, then realize nothing actually moves.

    If starting over, I’d pick one very specific topic, create a small cluster around it, and try to get that ranking first. That teaches you more than launching 30 random posts.

    Also, don’t treat all keywords as equal. Even “low competition” can be dead if the intent is wrong or dominated by sites with real authority.

    One practical step is to track a handful of pages closely instead of the whole site. You want to see what actually shifts rankings, not guess based on everything at once.

    Trade-off is it feels slower at the start, but you avoid wasting months building something that never gets traction.
